“When even one American – who has done nothing wrong – is forced by fear to shut his mind and close his mouth, then all Americans are in peril.” – Harry S. Truman

The Lost Art of Survival

Strange, how quickly our habits, ideals, priorities, and brainwaves change, isn’t it? Think about the conversations you’ve had the past week. What were the topics? What was the real meat and potatoes of your focus? Was it Paris Hilton’s scrawny ass in the slammer? Was it fuel prices? Was it the incredibly shadey state of American politics? Perhaps steroids in baseball and Barry Bonds? Or better yet, the final episode of the Sopranos?

I’ve had several conversations in the past month with friends, neighbors, and others based solely on survival. Not on entertaining ourselves or pacifying our social graces or saving face with mindless thoughts of fashion, fame, and foolishness, but focusing rather on how we can better help ourselves survive indepently from corporate scoundrels concerned solely with profits and stock margins.

From food to fuel to electricity to transportation, the majority of Americans depend on corporations, hospital leaches, and the horn-swaggling government instead of our dear ol’ selves for survival. What does that say about our culture? Our continuing existence has been placed in the hands of strangers who care nothing of our health, nothing of our overall well-being, and sure as shit not our survival. What the hell happened? When? And fuckin’ how?

When did this transition occur? Was it slow and methodical or rapid and noisy? Did this follow World War I? WWII? Vietnam? How did our mindsets alter so much? Was it the resentment of baby boomers of having all those chores handed down from their parents? Was it a growing concern of making more money to purchase more useless items? Or was it good ol’ fashion brainwashin’? Yes, make us helpless so we will all ultimately be defenseless. We’ve seen it before, time and time again – particularly in the countries dominating the rest of the world.

It appears money is the repetitive element. Yet can we eat paper money? What true value does it attain? Study the history of the American dollar against gold and silver. Will paper money keep us warm? Will it afford us a higher consciousness? No. It is merely an illusion of comfort. A simple yet effective smokescreen to keep us from peering into the true grits of existence.

One older farmer told me, “We started becoming more concerned with entertaining ourselves instead of feeding ourselves. That’s when everything started headin’ south,” he grinned. “Until a man’s belly goes hungry, how will you convince him something is wrong? Our bellies are full right now, so nobody is paying attention to what is going on in the country.”

Yes, our bellies are full, but we’re starving to death. How free is a country that can neither feed nor clothe itself? Close to 70 percent of our food comes from across the border. No American factories can even produce clothing from cotton (beginning to ending) without shipping the product out of the country. We’ve whored away all our manufacturing for higher profits thanks to foreign slave labor wages.

On top of these atrocities, toll roads, highways, interstates, and much more is being auctioned off to the highest bidders from Australia, Spain, Germany, and other foreign lands. Enter the Super American highway from Mexico City to Canada. Aw yes, hear the train whistles now, loading away the last of the American dream as it suffocates in a boxcar full of widgets, t-shirts, blue jeans, ball bearings, and hand soaps made in Tawain, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, and the Phillipines. What the hell are we making these days? Aw yes, more inept, dillusional managers and CEOs of more corrupt companies.

Hell, if it were not for China, the American cotton farmer would be out of business. Why? Because they are the only ones who buy our cotton predominantly. What happens when the Chinese find out all their gold in Fort Knox has been sold out? What happens if they decide to switch their investments to Euros instead of the American dollar? Our eggshell of an economy goes snap, crackle, and pop…in the same week.

We’ve got to slap ourselves in the face every morning, put on our workboots, and stomp ourselves out of this rutted conscience. If we don’t do it, who will? Will we continue to pretend as if entertainment is our only basis of existence? Will it take a famine to wake us? Where will the hungry bellies turn and to whom? The answer is an empty, silent prairie.

We should all grow our own food. At least some food. Particularly those of us out of urban areas. Depending solely on Tyson Foods and other corporate machines will leave us in the cold someday soon. We should grow our own fuel. We should buy local. We should buy organic. We should always buy American made. We should boycott world empires such as Wal-Mart. As farmers we should boycott purchasing seed, herbicides, and pesticides from companies such as Monsanto, DuPont, and DeltaPine (now Monsanto, as well.) My fellow liberators, we should do so much more than we currently do in this life.

Will we? It is doubtful. But a Son of a Farmer can dream, can’t he?

We should depend on the only one who can truly make the difference – our self!!!!

Till next time, keep the third eye squiggied and the campfire blazin’.

MAD AS HELL…YEAH!

Click here and I think the video says it all in not only agriculture, but American life in general. It has to be my favorite scene from any movie of all time. Enjoy.

LET’S PRETEND

(I’m back from a prolonged effort of various meditations on vegetables, renewable resources, the long lost art of the raindance, and creating yet another generation among our species. Without further delay, let’s get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?)

My fellow Liberators, I’ve been thinking lately. Yes, it hurts. And by god, yeah it often gets me into trouble with somebody somewhere. And you can bet your bottom and top dollar the act of wrinkling the ol’ cranium confounds and confuses the most relaxed speck of my mortal being. But allow me to ask you this. Am I pretending to think or am I simply thinking to prevent pretending? You, my fellow Liberators (of mind, body, and soul) may or may not be the judge.

Our current state of existence in this world and the digression/regression of the human race leads the mind down strange paths, up muddied slopes, and back down into mirky waters. Pretending helps cleanse the view and air out the stench that looms in the back urinals of our skull. Yes, cynicism is easy at this point, but it takes a real champion to break through all the fuss, the muss, and cuss. It takes character, and I am chalk-full of that, my friends. So, here I go  imagination first into the bliss that is this life in this world.

I’ll pretend our President is a brilliant man and continues to make selfless decisions to lead our country toward a better tomorrow. I’ll pretend his ignorance of renewable energies, his destruction of National Forests, and outright denial of global warming is genius. I’ll pretend Dick Cheney is nothing more than a loveable grandfather who cherishes his private world-record Cabbage Patch Doll collection. (More than 666 dolls currently in stock. Voodoo sticks not included.) I’ll pretend the fact two oil tycoons being voted to the top two positions in government is a complete coincidence.

I’ll pretend Donald Rumsfield is a mastermind of warfare, social skills, and sincerity. I’ll pretend Condoleezza Rice is attractive. I’ll pretend our senators and congress people run for political office out of the goodness of their hearts, taking no briberies in the process, and that they are primarily concerned with the private individual’s freedoms and rights instead of soul-sucking corporations when passing laws into effect. I’ll pretend at least 20% of them are sober when voting.

I’ll pretend the war in Iraq has been justified. I’ll pretend it has nothing to do with oil. I’ll pretend we wont go to war with Iran because they’re going to dump all their oil on the world market in exchange for Euros instead of Dollars. I’ll pretend Osama Bin Laden is the poster boy for all our troubles. I’ll pretend everything our government told us about 9/11 is true. I’ll pretend computer voting fraud is non-existent. I’ll pretend Bush beat Al Gore fairly in 2000 and it had nothing to do with his brother being governor of Florida. I’ll pretend all the votes were counted in Ohio in 2004. I’ll pretend I’m enthused with the voting process. I’ll pretend the Republicans and Democrats are not cleverly disguised mafias ram-rodding America.

I’ll pretend America is not bankrupt. I’ll pretend we are the richest country in the world  both in resources and money. I’ll pretend the Federal Reserve is not the Grand Puppeteer pulling all the strings. I’ll pretend it is not ran by the wealthiest families in the world. I’ll pretend the IRS is not a fascist secret police. I’ll pretend paying taxes is mandatory. I’ll pretend the National Debt is not phantom money owed to ourselves. Ill pretend Fort Knox is full of gold. I’ll pretend we landed on the moon. I’ll pretend Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I’ll pretend Sirhan Sirhan really shot Bobby Kennedy. I’ll pretend our own government did not assassinate Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X.

I’ll pretend our government cares about the farmer and the rancher. I’ll pretend the current administration and other gang members in Congress want American crops to prosper and increase in production. I’ll pretend the Federal Reserve wants more farmers and ranchers to stay in business so we might be debt-free and independent. I’ll pretend NAFTA and CAFTA are a good thing for all countries involved, particularly our dear ol’ USA. I’ll pretend we’re getting a fair price for our harvested crops. I’ll pretend production costs are just where they should be. I’ll pretend the American farmer and rancher are not on the extinct species list. I’ll pretend we still make plenty of goods in factories and mills. I’ll pretend free trade is vital to our economy. I’ll pretend the number of decent-paying jobs are on the rise. I’ll pretend our overall economy is as stable as a pony. I’ll pretend the Dow is accurate and fair for all, not manipulated by a few.
I’ll pretend there is an infinite supply of fossil fuels, timber, coal, and metals remaining. I’ll pretend biodiesel still needs to be researched. I’ll pretend we’re years away from clean and free energy. I’ll pretend there is no such thing as global warming. I’ll pretend our water and air is pure as the driven snow.

I’ll pretend hemp and marijuana is a harmful, deadly drug. I’ll pretend hemp is not the perfect plant for agriculture. I’ll pretend to believe everything I hear about the war on drugs.

I’ll pretend I’m interested in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s baby. I’ll pretend I’m more interested in fashion than politics. I’ll pretend I’m more interested in sports than survival. I’ll pretend I’m more interested in my neighbor’s private life than my nation’s status.

I’ll pretend our borders are safe and secure. I’ll pretend all terrorists are to blame for everything wrong. I’ll pretend I’m comfortable with body cavity searches at the airport. I’ll pretend television represents reality, and reality T.V. is not a contradiction of terms. Hell, I’ll pretend Pamela Anderson, Jessica Simpson, and Brittney Spears all sport real titties, lips, jaws, eyes, and hips. I’ll pretend Michael Jackson is not really Peter Pan.

I’ll pretend an increase of paper money (federal notes) is my main goal in life. I’ll pretend to trust my government. I’ll pretend we’re not going to witness chaos and complete madness in the next five years. I’ll pretend I believe everything on Fox News and MSNBC. I’ll pretend our mainstream media reports accurately and amicably on the most pressing issues. I’ll pretend Clear Channel has not ruined radio. I’ll pretend Wal-Mart is good for America. I’ll pretend the majority are not pathetic sheep being led to the slaughter. I’ll pretend our forefathers are proud. I’ll pretend America is more free now than ever. I’ll pretend I’m not concerned with tracking chips. I’ll pretend to ignore most logic. I’ll pretend I cannot think for myself.

I’ll pretend everything is alright. I’ll pretend not to be prepared for the worst. I’ll pretend not to hope for the best. I’ll pretend not to expect something in between. And I’ll even try to think about the essence of pretending once all of this has blurred to the sea-sawed edge of pontification and a front-row seat in a padded room, where we’ll all be sporting heavily buckled white jackets and watching the sound of static transform into a melodious whisper.

OPERATION HUH?

In case anyone overlooked our initial reasons for going back to rid Iraq of Saddam:

O peration

I raqi

L iberation

Does anyone honestly still think this war is about anything else? Hell, we don’t need to spell it out even for the most ignorant or most blindly patriotic American. Patriotism is not having to agree with elected officials. They work for us – no matter how rich or powerful. We’re being led – falsely led – down a slippery slope and into an abyss filled with nothing but a den of vipers. Those vipers are America’s most wealthy and powerful.

Late-night epiphany in the Wake of 9/11

I’m absolutely ill after witnessing all the staged drama on mainstream media and every single blasphemous Hollywood trailer boasting 9/11 heroisms, deaths, forfeited freedoms, and continuing fears for the sake of financial gain, reminding us all how patriotic we should still be because of that fateless day.

Interesting how most people don’t really talk about what ACTUALLY occurred that day – September 11, 2001.Few talk about the bombs going off floor by floor inside the twin towers, about the demolition collapse of two 100-feet tall skyscrapers, about the tan planes with no windows crashing (not silver with red, white, and blue) into them, about Tower 7 (headquarters of CIA, Guliiani, and many corporate money-laundering cover-ups) collapsing as well when it was not even grazed by a 757 airplane amidst the chaos. Nobody talks about the billions of dollars worth of stock sold (more than 50% above norm)the week and morning of 9/11 in companies such as: American Airlines, United Airlines, and Boeing. Oh no, you won’t hear on Fox News about the hundreds of billions of dollars worth of gold beneath Ground Zero still missing, about a million pieces of steel blown all to hell from a  structure fire. Nevermind the fact no bodies or actual plane fragments were found from United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania or in/near the Pentagon ‘crashed’ by the mysterious American Airlines Flight 77. Someone please explain to me how a commercial airliner with a wingspan of over 125-feet can penetrate our most secure building, leaving behind one perfect circle no more than 70-feet wide, and without a trace of colossal wings or several-tons worth of engines or baggage or bodies or seats? (David Blayne’s got nothing on these guys.)

Five years later, nobody can. And nobody will. Including our President, our Vice-President, our Secretary of Defense, State, our Attorney General, or particularly any inept peon from Homeland Security. Why? Because they are in too deep now to stop the LIE. Stopping the LIE means the game is over for these bastards. Stopping the LIE is lights out for America’s most powerful.

And let us not forget all the coincidences of nobody knowing anthing that entire day during the most crucial moments on American soil in well over a century. Not to mention the fact our “President” sat idle (after crapping his pants) for 30 minutes inside a Florida elementary classroom (getting his education at an appropriate level) before finally reacting as Commander in Chief of our nation. He reacted by leaving the classroom and getting as high in the air in Air Force 1 as possible, making no signficant decisions.
He then goes on record lying this past year, “I was outside a classroom down in Florida when I saw the first plane hit the tower. I didn’t have much time to think about it, because I was taken away very quickly.”
Really, W? Gee, 30 minutes doesn’t seem all that quick. Not when your nation is under attack. Not when thousands of lives are being slain on American soil.
Want more coincidences surrounding 9/11?
How about the factour own President’sbaby brother Marvin Bush was one of the higher-ups of Securacom, a company in charge of security at the Twin Towers, United Airlines, and Dulles Airpot in D.C. Marvin’s 62-year-old babysitter was found crushed to death (by her own car) outside his home three weeks later. (See story below.) Wirt Walker III, a cousin of the Bush Brothers, is one of the head honchos, as well of Securacom.
And ain’t it freakin’ ironic how nobody talks about the electrical blackout the weekend before 9/11 with men in coveralls coming in with spools of wires, and employees came to work, noticing dusty remnants of concrete all over the floor.
Conspiracies?
Craziness?
Is our government lying?
Nawwwwwww, not these dudes.
I mean, they’ve been so up front and honest to us about this whole war in Iraq thing.
And the past two elections have been completely and honestly computer-vote fraud free with no controvery.
I encourage each one of you to seek the truth.
Some of you, I’m sure have. The rest must begin now. The information and evidence is overwhelming.
Before you go to sleep at night, ask yourself these questions:
Who runs our country?
What is a democracy?
What is fascism?
What is freedom?
What is liberty?
Where is America going?
What is the Constitution?
What are the Bill of Rights?
What is Treason?
What prevents people from recogizing, realizing, and reacting to facts?
What is America now?
Who are the real terrorists?
How big is the LIE?
How much bigger are we willing to let it get?
Is this too radical for you to believe? Is the lie ‘too big to get your brain around’ as one of my good friends says.
Then lets try this instead.
Yes, lets blame another country.
Yes, lets go after the Muslims.
Yes, let us blame Bin Laden.
Yes, let us blame Saddam.
Lets wage war on the entire Middle East.
Let us slay thousands upon thousands of innocent souls, tossing their wayward carcasses in the desert.
Let us raid their historical places and loot their riches.
Let us take all their oil.
Let us make millions and millions of more enemies.
We are doing just that. And for what?
For justice?
Revenge?
A reckoning?
No, my friends. For profit and power. Plain and simple.
So, now you tell me. Just think for a while. Think for yourself.
Who could have pulled off all the heinous crimes committed that day and thus far gotten away with it scott-free? Who has that kind of money? Who has that kind of power? Who has profitted both politically and financially from 9/11? Who can make planes, buildings, thousands of bodies dissappear, and make the majority believe it was the boogey man who did it? Who can lull you into a six-year coma? Who can preach fear to you 24/7 and make you think you are freer and safer when in fact you are becoming more of prisoner every waking breath and more of a potential victim each night you fall asleep? What will they say about this in the history books? Whose version of the last ten years will make fine print for posterity to study and learn from our failures, our naivety, and our fears?
I love my country for what it was established to be, not what it has become. I respect the office of the President, not who now is in the oval office. I believe in life, liberty, freedom, and the pursuit of such things that unite us as one. I do not believe in being guilted or fooled out of any of my freedoms so I might feel safer. I do not believe any of the shit I’ve heard from any lying scum calling his or her self a politician.
Will we do nothing about all of this once the door is kicked open wide?
Will we sit and stare in awe at the horrific scenery dancing naked before our very eyes?
Will our numbed bodies remain in the same trance?
Will we lift even a finger to point?
Will ourquivering voices even find the strength to break the sound of a whisper?
Will wealthy and powerful con artists slip away into the darkness?
Will the very fear they’ve hammered into the marrow of our soul immobilize our spirits?
Have the days of rebellion been swallowed up by tyrrany?
You tell me. I’ll bewaiting for you and your reply on the other side of an unlocked door.
BUSH EMPLOYEE’S MYSTERIOUS DEATH
By Wayne Madsen

WASHINGTON, At around 9 PM on September 29, Fairfax County, Virginia police responded to a 911 call describing an accident. However, they soon discovered they were not dealing with a routine emergency but the mysterious death of an employee of the 47-year old brother of President George W. Bush, venture capitalist Marvin Bush.Sixty-two year old Bertha Champagne, described as a long time “baby sitter” for Marvin and Margaret Bush’s two children, son Walker, 13, and daughter Marshall, 17, was found crushed to death by her own vehicle in a driveway in front of the Bush family home in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. Champagne reportedly lived at the Bush family home.
( Read More… | 4129 bytes in body )http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/101003_bush_death.htmlChampagne had left the residence to retrieve something from her car, which police say had somehow been left in gear. According to the police report, the car rolled forward and pinned the woman between it and a small building next to the driveway (possibly a checkpoint built by the Secret Service when Marvin’s father, George H. W. Bush, was president).

The car crossed Edgehill Drive, a small street in front of the Bush compound. The vehicle then crossed a busy two-lane street, Fort Hunt Road, finally coming to rest in a wooded area across the street that adjoins the prestigious Belle Haven Country Club. No explanations have been offered as to why the vehicle did not move until Champagne was in a position to be crushed.

Champagne was pronounced dead on arrival at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. Courtney Young, a spokesperson for the Fairfax County police was surprised when asked about the circumstances surrounding Champagne’s death. She indicated the media was primarily focused on another Fairfax County story, the kidnapping and holdup of the wife of New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg on October 7. More mystifying is the fact that the Washington Post waited almost an entire week to publish the story about the baby sitter’s death.

The incident occurred on September 29, but the Post did not report it until October 5 and buried it on page 3 of the Metro section. Nevertheless, the Washington Post was the only media outlet to cover the story at all. Young said police still did not know the exact cause of Champagne’s death.

Young said the police had posted the incident on its web site in a press release, although the report makes no mention of Marvin Bush. It reads: A 62-year-old Alexandria area woman died after being pinned between a rolling car and a building. The crash happened on Monday, around 9 pm, near the intersection of Fort Hunt Road and Edgehill Drive. Bertha Champagne had gone outside to get something from a car in a driveway.

The car, which was left in gear, began to roll forward. Champagne was pinned between the car and a small building next to the driveway. The car continued to roll down the driveway, crossed Fort Hunt Road, and came to rest in a wooded area. Champagne was taken to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The press release is dated September 30 at 1330 (1:30 PM), some sixteen and a half hours after the incident occurred. The police were well aware of Marvin Bush’s controversial role in serving on corporate boards for companies associated with the 911 terrorist attacks, however, they emphasized that Champagne’s death was merely a quirky accident and no foul play was involved.

…According to two articles in the Progressive Populist written by Margie Burns, from 1993 to 2000, Bush served on the board of Securacom (since renamed Stratesec). The chairman of the board of Stratesec is Wirt D. Walker III, a cousin of Marvin and George W. Bush. Securacom had contracts to provide security for Dulles International Airport (the airport from which American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon, originated) and the World Trade Center in New York.

Securacom’s backers include a number of Kuwaitis through a company called KuwAm Corp (Kuwaiti-American Corp.). Stratesec also has Saudi investors.

Walker also serves as a managing director of KuwAm, which maintains offices within the Watergate complex along with Riggs Bank, on whose board Bush’s uncle, Jonathan Bush, sits. Saudi Princess Haifa al Faisal, the wife of Saudi Ambassador to the US Prince Bandar, used a Riggs account to funnel money to Omar al Bayoumi and Osama Basnan, two Saudi students in California associated with two of the 911 hijackers.

Bush Family Babysitter Killed in Fairfax
Sunday, October 5, 2003; Page C03
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46190-2003Oct5.html

A babysitter for the family of Marvin Bush was found dead Monday night outside the family’s Fairfax County home, and police said that she had been crushed when her car rolled into her, pinning her between the vehicle and an outbuilding on the property.

Fairfax County police said Bertha Champagne, 62, had worked for several years for Marvin Bush, President Bush’s brother, and lived at the family home on Fort Hunt Road in the Alexandria section of Fairfax.

Officer Courtney Young, a police spokeswoman, said Champagne had gone outside the house about 9 p.m. Monday, reportedly to retrieve something from her car.

The vehicle had been in gear, police said, and appeared to have rolled in her direction when Champagne was in front of it.

After pinning Champagne, Young said, the car continued rolling toward Fort Hunt Road, near the intersection of Edgehill Drive.

Champagne was taken to an area hospital and declared dead that evening. Young said she did not know the cause of death.

For those who do not accept the Official Story on the collapse of the Twin Towers, this article is a minor smoking gun. It explains their biggest problem: if the Towers were brought down with explosives how could anyone get them in. Step in Marvin Bush whose company installed the security system…

Vol. 9, No. 2021 – The American Reporter – January 20, 2003
SECRECY SURROUNDS A BUSH BROTHER’S ROLE IN 9/11 SECURITY

by Margie Burns

Washington, D.C. WASHINGTON, Jan 19, 2003 — A company that provided security at New York City’s World Trade Center, Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., and to United Airlines between 1995 and 2001, was backed by a private Kuwaiti-American investment firm with ties to a brother of President Bush and the Bush family, according to records obtained by the American Reporter.

Two planes hijacked on Sept. 11, 2001 were United Airlines planes, and another took off from Dulles International Airport; two, of course, slammed into the World Trade Center. But the Bush Administration has never disclosed the ties of a presidential brother and the Bush family with the firm that intersected the weapons and targets on a day of national tragedy.

Marvin P. Bush, a younger brother of George W. Bush, was a principal in the company from 1993 to 2000, when most of the work on the big projects was done. But White House responses to 9/11 have not publicly disclosed the company’s part in providing security to any of the named facilities, and many of the public records revealing the relationships are not public.

Nonetheless, public records reveal that the firm, formerly named Securacom, listed Bush on its board of directors and as a significant shareholder. The firm, now named Stratesec, Inc., is located in Sterling, Va., a suburb of Washington, D.C., and emphasizes federal clients. Bush is no longer on the board.

Marvin Bush has not responded to repeated telephoned and emailed requests for comment on this story.

The American Stock Exchange delisted Stratesec’s stock in October 2002. Securacom also had a contract to provide security at Los Alamos National Laboratories, notorious for its security breaches and physical and intellectual property thefts.

According to its present CEO, Barry McDaniel, the company had an ongoing contract to handle security at the World Trade Center “up to the day the buildings fell down.” Yet instead of being investigated, the company and companies involved with it have benefited from legislation pushed by the Bush White House and rubber-stamped by Congressional Republicans. Stratesec, its backer KuwAm, and their corporate officers stand to benefit from limitations on liability and national-security protections from investigation provided in bills since 9/11.

ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PRESIDENT BUSH TAKES A 9-DAY OUT OF THE
COUNTRY TRIP….. WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE????

Just another word for nothin’ left to lose, and what is left for us to lose? Factories? Gone. Forests? They’re being sold acre by acre. Agriculture? On its way out the door. What is remaining these days? Are we more free than we were 20 years ago? How will this country stand with absolutely nothing to export (except paper money) while we import everything?

(BY THE LIGHT OF A BURNING BRIDGE continued from blog)

Now it seems the American people wont even risk their credit ratings, student loans, the next piece of ass, or a sideways glance from people who look at them like AIDS patients for daring to deviate from the corporate, media-instilled norm. We have come a long way backward. Rodney Kings Cant we all just get along has become the modern day theme song for the surrender of Americas character, and the L.A. Rebellion of 1992 was probably the last flame of will to fight injustice in American history.

This new quiescence comes at a time when US crimes are far worse and more far-reaching than they were in 1970; certainly in the eyes of the world. In 2001 the US government both facilitated and executed the attacks of 9/11 against its own people, killing thousands of its citizens as an excuse to launch a neo-imperial conquest for energy. A few Americans held small rallies, organized some ineffective groups, bought a few hundred thousand books and DVDs, listened to a few radio programs and lectures, and then quietly lined up to have their bags, emails, credit histories, minds and bodies searched. Critical mass was never achieved as Executive Orders along with the Patriot and Homeland Security Acts shredded the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th Amendments to our Bill of Rights.

In my book Crossing the Rubicon I wrote that events that took place in the five years following those attacks would determine the course of human history for centuries to come. We now stand at the brink of that fateful anniversary.

After the 9-11 attacks the US government lied to create a war for oil in Iraq telling us that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, almost-ready atom bombs, poison gas and deadly germs. We were told that he helped execute the 9/11 attacks. It was all lies, and no one has held the US accountable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths (murders) in Iraq and Afghanistan since then. Few have tried to hold the government accountable for 2,500 Americans who have died needlessly, and those who have, have been remarkably ineffective.

US presidential elections were stolen in 2000 and 2004 through rigged electronic voting software and intimidation. Not one drop of blood was spilled anywhere, even as the US Supreme Court rendered an illegal decision supporting the overthrow of the Constitution and trampling the rights of individual states.

I never thought I would call the 60s and 70s the good old days. I would cry tears of joy today to see just one campus overrun by a modern equivalent of the Students for a Democratic Society. I would cheer to see a general strike paralyze a city. It would be living proof that American character had not been submerged, drugged, weakened, and rendered anemic beyond revival.

My country is dead. Its people have surrendered to tyranny, and in so doing, they have become tyrannys primary support group; its base constituency; its chief defender. Every day they offer their endorsement of tyranny by banking in its banks and spending their borrowed money with the corporations that run it. The great Neocon strategy of George H.W. Bush has triumphed. Convince the American people that they cant live without the good things, then sit back and watch as they endorse the progressively more outrageous crimes you commit as you throw them bones with ever-less meat on them. All the while, lock them into debt. Destroy the middle class, the only political base that need be feared. Make them accept, because of their own shared guilt, ever-more repressive police state measures. Do whatever you want.

No amount of mind control spin can absolve any of us from acknowledging this ugly truth about the US and its crimes today. It lurks invisibly behind every corporate news broadcast, every commercially-made television show, every infomercial, every new magazine ad, and almost every new popular song that leads Americans deeper into ever-less-satisfying consumption, self-indulgence and debt. It stands grinning behind every report on the worlds rapacious financial markets and every new automobile, shampoo, or other product that promises to give the world larger and more potent sexual organs, bigger (more ridiculous) breasts, a better love life, and peace of mind.

I left my last classes that spring day in 1970 after four students had been murdered, crying from both the emotional pain and the tear gas that wafted up the Janns Steps and onto the Quad at UCLA. I went to my job as an intern at the Los Angeles Police Department. After donning my khaki uniform without gun or badge I returned to UCLA to work at LAPDs command post, ferrying dispatches and running errands for Deputy Chiefs, Commanders, and Captains as LAPD batons shed the blood of my fellow students. My life has always been full of ironies. Then, I believed that the system could be changed from the inside. Then, I believed that the United States could be changed from the inside.

Mistrusted by both sides there was no safe place for me to cry that day.

My shame today is that it took a set of circumstances where my life was in danger to make me make the right choice, a choice I would now like to say was totally a matter of conscience, but it was not. The truth is that I was prompted to do what I should have done long ago out of a well-justified desire to save my life.

In this life I have chosen not to die a martyrs death. As I am learning every day, there are more difficult and demanding ways to write the final chapters of ones life. I left the United States with one large suitcase, my laptop, and a backpack. I left behind my precious library, most of my clothing, my personal possessions, my guns, and a house full of furniture. I brought with me less than eight thousand dollars in cash and gold to start the final segment of my life.

My permanent exodus from the US was actually ordained thirty years - to the month - before I left for good on July 18th, 2006. It was thirty years ago that my then-fiance, a career contract agent for the CIA, disclosed to me that her people were interested in giving a major boost to my career with LAPD if I would become involved with her anti-terror operations that involved overlooking (i.e. protecting) large drug shipments coming in while facilitating the movement of large quantities of firearms going out. I refused to compromise my ethics as a police officer and - as I wrote on page 6 of Crossing the Rubicon that has determined the course of my life ever since.

Like all humans I want to hold on to dreams for as long as possible, even long after I know they will never come true. I have tried and sacrificed with every fiber of my being to change my country, but the plain fact is that the United States of America cannot and will never be changed from within. I recall the words spoken to me by a senior FBI agent in Los Angeles in 1986: Mike, the world doesnt want to be saved.

Stupid me. I still believe it does - at least the parts of it that lie outside the US, Great Britain, and Israel; the real Axis of Evil.

Today the United States is the cause of ever-expanding wars (covert and overt), carnage, suffering, and political and economic exploitation - even within its own borders against its own people - that fill our corporate-issued headlines and TV shows. The US economy, the privately-owned Federal Reserve system, and the government which they operate like a franchise are the greatest enemies of the entire human race and especially the rapidly- deteriorating and fragile ecosystem which supports all life. U.S. citizens are slowly discovering that they are not immune because of their nationality. On our planet today, what happens to one must inevitably happen to all. Peak Oil and global warming will spare no nationality in the end.

The US economy, driven by a fiat currency, fractional reserve banking, debt-based financing - and doped with the billions of dollars of drug profits laundered through its corporations and banks - is a superheated pyramid scheme of infinite growth wherein 5% of the worlds population consumes 25% of the worlds energy and a totally disproportionate share of the worlds diminishing resources and commodities.

In their silence and acquiescence Americans have voted - even if by abstention - to stand on the shoulders of all drowning peoples in the vain hope that they will somehow be saved from a paradigm which they support and empower by obeying it; by endorsing it with their silence or knowingly impotent protests; by refusing to throw themselves against the gears of the machine. In this world, a protest which is allowed and encouraged, corralled into free-speech areas, and then policed by the ruling government only to be ignored by the media is, by definition, meaningless.

The US is a nation where the non-negotiable and unsustainable American way of life is propped up by global conflict, out-of-control military spending, massive and unsustainable debt, and an increasingly-aggressive fascist police state. It is a nation where all US citizens who do not resist and disconnect from this paradigm enjoy their ever-diminishing privileges with the guilty knowledge that somewhere else, hopefully in some other country, others are paying the price for it.

The world is now my country.

With the passage of time, the degree of corporate oppression, the outrageousness of the cruelty, and the absurdity of the lies can only increase as dwindling resources diminish and desperation erupts. Ironically, the disappearing American middle class will still cheer at each new millionaire success story, even if they quietly understand that a hundred or a thousand of their kind had to disappear to create it. They chase illusions of hope rather than the real possibility of justice and change like lottery players with a one-in-a-billion chance of winning. They prefer that to hard work and sacrifice with much better odds where almost everybody can win something.

As the human race enters the first stages of inevitable collapse resulting from Peak Oil, it does so ass-backwards, in complete denial, and in the one way most certain to guarantee the greatest amount of suffering and death for future generations. It does so because, for a time at least, U.S. foreign, military, and economic policy holds the steering wheel of human destiny through dollar hegemony, military force, technology and globalization.

This control is inevitably weakening, and other hands in other countries are successfully struggling for an ever-increasing measure of influence. The Empire is dying from within, and like all wounded beasts, it is becoming more vicious and dangerous in the process; its lies more transparent.

A different world is possible. A better world is possible. It took the imminent threat of my own death at the hands of my government to make me fully admit to my innermost self what I have known for years. Having failed to change my countrys direction after 30 years of effort, I had to stop living in the problem and start living in the solution. If I did not, my soul would have died just as surely as my body would have died after the recent burglary that savaged our offices.

I do not know where I will spend the rest of my days. Maybe in Venezuela, maybe in Mexico with the Zapatistas, maybe in Bolivia, maybe in France, Germany, or even Russia. But because Venezuela has become the singular world leader in resisting US domination under the courageous, intelligent, and inspired leadership of Hugo Chavez, I want to begin the rest of my days here.

Being freer to speak, to learn, to experience and to witness real solutions being discovered and implemented by peoples willing to take risks and who understand the challenges, I will be better able to report usefully to FTW readers and the world in future books and articles. I am currently in a country where the people have changed and are changing their government; where the elected head of state has won six elections while George W. Bush has stolen two. Is it any wonder I feel better already?

One thing is certain about fascism and that is that its behavior and evolution are remarkably predictable. Five years ago I helped bring into world consciousness a forgotten quote from Benito Mussolini wherein he said that, Fascism ought to more properly be called corporatism since it is the merger of state and corporate power. Nothing better describes the state of the world today. The U.S. is a nation of the corporation, by the corporation, and for the corporation. As such it has placed something different from and opposed to the welfare of human beings on the compass as its true North.

Fascism always becomes more vicious as it evolves. It never retreats, and as with drug addition, larger and larger doses of oppression and violence are always required to sustain its inevitable path towards self-destruction. As the great Cynthia McKinney said to me not long before her just-orchestrated ouster from the House of Representatives, any fool can see it coming.

THE REAL REASON FOR ANIMAL

IDENTIFICATION

I try to instill in my listeners (the Derry Brownfield Radio Show) on a daily basis that the United States is no longer a sovereign nation. Practically everything that happens here, be it the Patriot Act — National ID — Sustainable Communities — Gun Control — or a host of other programs and projects that destroy our God-given freedom is happening in Australia. The European Union, New Zealand and in most of the free world. It is because these nations are linked together in a global economic ambush, by global corporations, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization. Animal identification is being forced upon us because of documents our officials have signed tying us to certain international alliances.

Doreen Hannes (animalwaitress@yahoo.com) has written a white paper proving that Animal Identification was spawned by international entanglements. This article will quote some of the highlights of her paper.

The players involved in the National Identification System (NAIS) are varied. The world Trade Organization (WTO) reached an agreement among participating countries several years ago in Uruguay called the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) agreements. The SPS agrees that each member country can make regulations that must be met by other member countries in order to TRADE IN AGRICULTURAL GOODS with each other. These regulations must be in the interest of the country making the regulations to protect that country from disease, pests, or perceived health dangers. The TBT says developed countries must help less developed countries advance technologically in order to trade with other member countries.

The OIE is a World Animal Health Organization similar to our USDA but on a global basis. The OIE is independent of the United Nations but works closely with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Codex Alimentarius, both of which are tied to the United Nations. Codex may be compared to our Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on a global basis. The United States has membership in both the OIE and the UN which puts us under the control of Codex. The OIE has authority over all member nations’ veterinary services. The OIE has a publication available on line called the Terrestrial Animal Health Standards commission (TAHSC) which contains information regarding (traceability product tracing and Codex standards).

Page 41 of the TAHSC states there is a critical relationship between animal identification and the traceability of animal products. Animal Identification and traceability are key tools for animal health and food safety. TAHSC relates to vaccination programs, herd and flock management, zoning, surveillance, early response, and animal movement and health measures in order to facilitate trade. A quote from page 41, “the competent Authority in partnership with relevant government agencies and the private sector should establish a legal framework for the IMPLEMENTATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF ANIMAL IDENTIFICATION AND ANIMAL TRACEABILITY in the country.” The European Union declares that their animal identification requirements are in line with both Codex and the OIE.

Remember – the United States has signed documents with these member nations so we also are a member. As a member we must harmonize if we are to trade in agricultural goods. What if the United States refuses to implement a program of Animal Identification? World Trade Organization documents regarding the SPS and the TBT recommend disputes be mediated by the OIE or Codex.

It is plain and simple – this dictate is coming directly from the OIE – (world animal health organization) which is an off-shoot of the United Nation’s Food and Agricultural Organization, and since the United States has signed documents creating membership in these foreign alliances, the US is obligated to create an Animal Identification program.

This is exactly what George Washington warned us against in 1796 when he gave his farewell address. Washington told us to “STEER CLEAR OF PERMANENT ALLIANCES WITH ANY PORTION OF THE FOREIGN WORLD.” Thomas Jefferson stated during his 1801 Inaugural address, “ENTANGLING ALLIANCES WITH NONE.” Our national leaders have forgotten American History and have us so entangled in foreign alliances that the noose is tightening around our economic neck and choking the life out of our sovereignty.

Doreen writes, “It is abundantly clear that through these international entanglements our officials are both legislating and regulating our God=Given and constitutionally guaranteed rights away in the name of international trade and globalization. These officials have agreed to implement a plan that is destructive to our nation’s existence as well as our freedom to feed ourselves without intense surveillance. Is our freedom for sale in the global market? Is selling beef to Japan important enough to throw our Constitution and our children’s future into the trash can? Can we not support ourselves agriculturally with the excellent controls we already have in place?”
